Summary:
Sets up and operates one or more ESCOMATIC screw machines to perform series of machine operations such as boring, threading, and facing metal wire, rod, or bar stock to specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Studies blueprints and layout sheets to determine machining to be done, dimensions of parts, permissible tolerances, and plans sequence of operations.
Visualizes movements of machine parts, work pieces, and tools in each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time.
Selects cutting tools to be used on basis of experience and knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics, or by referring to tables, charts or instructions on layout sheets.
Installs collets and bushings, using wrenches.
Inserts stock into stock feed mechanism.
Mounts cutting tools in tool holders and mounts them on machine, using wrenches, verifying their position with gauges and other measuring instruments.
Operates machine through one cycle, stopping machine and adjusting tool positions and machine controls to allow for such factors as timing and clearance between moving parts.
Starts machines, observes operation, and verifies conformance of first run and sample work pieces to specification, using assorted measuring instruments.
Replaces worn tools.
Must have the ability to work well alone and in teams of co-workers.
Must have the ability to follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and convert this information into a productive and positive outcome.
Will comply with all Safety policies and procedures at all times while on the company property and conducting company business.
May tend, operate and/or set-up machines that measure, bore, thread, cut, shave and shape component parts. Machines or electronic equipment that an operator may use in the performance of their jobs include:
Stone and Diamond grinder, Drill press, Parts counter.
Hand tools that are used include:
Pliers, screw driver, hammer. vise, torque wrench, caliper, tweezers, vice grip, micrometer, dial
and limit gauges, and scales. Assorted hand tools.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Direct experience with ESCOMATIC D-6 Screw machine is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Safety gear such as safety glasses, gloves, smocks, and aprons shall be worn as appropriate during working and when tasks warrant safety protection for your well being. Ergonomic support is required in all respects.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
