EXPERIENCED ASSOCIATE BUYER--JUNIOR TOPS
Reporting directly to the Junior Buyer, the ASSOCIATE BUYER TOPS:
Delivers the planned return on investment for the Merchandise Division.
Operates within merchandise plan objectives regarding the following items: Mark-ups, Mark-downs, Margins, Inventory Turns
Develops departmental strategy and plans in conjunction with Planner on a quarterly planning calendar.
Reviews and revises department/class plans on a monthly basis and work with Planner to implement any revisions.
Develops store strategies in conjunction with Planner regarding product mixes, delivery timing, fixture rollouts and special events.
Interprets and analyzes statistical reports and take appropriate action to maximize trending businesses and minimize down-trending businesses.
Searches and negotiates the best deal and value in the marketplace to ensure that we are priced below competition.
Pursues new vendors, concepts, items and trends to set us apart from the competition.
Manages flow or merchandise to maximize merchandise turnover.
Takes on additional duties as needed.
Desired Skills and
Experience:
5-7 years of experience in retail industry or merchandising
Bachelor degree in Fashion Merchandising preferred, but not required
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Computer literate
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
