POSITION:
Payroll Specialist (Full Time Regular) LOCATION:
BHS Corporate - Gardena, CA DUTIES:
The Payroll Specialist performs a variety of payroll related tasks to support the operations of the facility or accounting department.
Qualifications:
Following are the qualifications and competencies required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' new hires, hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, address changes, and other information.
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions (401K, Life Insurance) Process semi-monthly payroll using MIP ABILA payroll software and HR Management Module.
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two years of direct payroll processing experience Experience with ADP or Paycheck software preferred Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
